Getting started
One school, one term, attendance first. Everything else waits until the register is a habit.
That order is not caution — it is what works. A school that starts with the register alone has, one term later, a system its teachers trust. A school that starts with everything at once has five half-used features and a principal who has stopped opening the app.
Before the first teacher signs in
Have these ready. Every one is cheap now and expensive later:
- A blank report card — the actual paper your school sends home. Every label, band and remark on it becomes configuration; we match your form, not the other way round.
- The grading scale — bands, minimum marks, remarks, and the pass mark.
- The term calendar — how many semesters or marking periods, and their exact dates.
- Grade levels in the school's own words — "Grade 7", "JSS 1", whatever appears on your documents.
- One real class roster as a spreadsheet — names as they should appear, admission numbers if you use them.
- The assessment split — Classwork 20 / Test 30 / Exam 50, or whatever your school actually uses. It must total 100.
We set the school up from these with you on the phone. No developer is involved; if any step needs one, that is a bug on our side.
The order that works
- Week one: attendance. Every teacher, every class, every day. Nothing else is switched on.
- When the register sticks: marks. The gradebook, assignments, the first printed mark sheet.
- Then the office: fees, texts to parents, report cards on the school's letterhead.
- Then the rest, as the school asks for it: quizzes and exam practice, the timetable, admissions, guardian accounts.
What we watch with you
- Register completion — the share of school days with a register taken, by class. This is the number that says whether the pilot is real.
- Enrolment accuracy — leavers removed, new admissions entered. The system is only as true as the roster.
- Who is signing in — a feature nobody opens is a feature to leave switched off.
Accounts
Students and teachers sign in with a username the school issues — no email needed, because most people here do not have one they check. Passwords are set on first sign-in. On a shared lab computer, the session ends with the browser.
Ready?
Call us back and tell us about the school. Twenty minutes on the phone is enough to know whether it fits.
